Jane Coop

Jane Coop, born on April eighteenth, nineteen fifty, is a distinguished Canadian pianist and music pedagogue. Renowned for her exceptional talent, she has captivated audiences worldwide as an internationally recognized concert pianist. Her performances have graced prestigious venues such as the Bolshoi Hall in Saint Petersburg, the Kennedy Center, and Alice Tully Hall, among others.

Throughout her illustrious career, Jane has performed as a soloist with major symphony orchestras, showcasing her artistry and passion for music. Her remarkable contributions to the field have made her a prominent figure in the classical music scene, with performances at iconic locations like Roy Thomson Hall, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the Beijing Concert Hall, and the Salle Gaveau in Paris.

In addition to her performance career, Jane Coop dedicated over three decades to educating the next generation of musicians as a faculty member at the University of British Columbia’s School of Music in Vancouver from nineteen eighty to two thousand twelve. Her commitment to music education has left a lasting impact on her students and the broader musical community.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to music and education, Jane was appointed a member of the Order of Canada in December two thousand twelve.
