Jaouad Gharib

Jaouad Gharib, born on May 22, 1972, is a distinguished Moroccan long-distance runner renowned for his exceptional prowess in marathon competitions. His journey into the world of athletics began relatively late, as he only took up serious running at the age of twenty-two. This late start did not hinder his ascent to the top of the sport.

Gharib's remarkable talent was showcased on the global stage when he clinched victory at the World Championships in 2003 and successfully defended his title in 2005. This achievement made him the second consecutive world champion in the marathon, following the legendary Abel Antón. His dedication and skill have solidified his status as one of the elite marathon runners of his time.
