Jared Dudley, born on July 10, 1985, is a distinguished American basketball coach and former professional player. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Dudley began his basketball journey at Boston College, where he played for the Eagles, showcasing his skills as a forward.
In the 2007 NBA draft, Dudley was selected as the twenty-second overall pick by the Charlotte Bobcats. His tenure in Charlotte lasted a season and a half before he was traded to the Phoenix Suns in December 2008. Over five seasons with the Suns, Dudley established himself as a reliable player, leading to a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers in July 2013.
His career continued to evolve as he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in August 2014, followed by a move to the Washington Wizards in July 2015. Dudley made a notable return to the Phoenix Suns in July 2016, spending another two years with the franchise before joining the Brooklyn Nets in July 2018. In July 2019, he signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he achieved the pinnacle of his career by winning an NBA championship in 2020.
After re-signing with the Lakers in November 2020, Dudley announced his retirement in August 2021. He transitioned into coaching, joining the Mavericks' coaching staff before accepting the role of top assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets in July 2025, marking a new chapter in his basketball journey.
