Jared Spurgeon

Jared Spurgeon, born on November twenty-ninth, nineteen eighty-nine, is a distinguished Canadian professional ice hockey player. He serves as a defenceman and the captain for the Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League (NHL). Spurgeon's journey in professional hockey began when he was selected one hundred fifty-sixth overall by the New York Islanders during the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. However, he ultimately joined the Wild after the Islanders chose not to sign him.

Before entering the NHL, Spurgeon honed his skills over five seasons in major junior hockey with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL). His tenure with the Chiefs was marked by significant achievements, including winning both a WHL Championship and the prestigious 2008 CHL Memorial Cup.

Following the conclusion of the 2009–10 OHL season, Spurgeon transitioned to the Minnesota Wild's American Hockey League affiliate, the Houston Aeros. His impressive performance in the first twenty-three games caught the attention of the coaching staff, leading to his first NHL recall just a day before his twenty-first birthday. He made his NHL debut the very next day and continued to play with the Wild for the remainder of that season.
