Jaron Lanier

Jaron Lanier, born on May third, nineteen sixty, is a multifaceted American computer scientist, composer, and philosopher. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of virtual reality, having co-founded VPL Research, Inc. in nineteen eighty-five alongside Thomas G. Zimmerman. This groundbreaking company was the first to market VR goggles and wired gloves, setting the stage for future innovations in immersive technology.

Throughout the late nineteen nineties, Lanier contributed to the development of applications for Internet2, showcasing his forward-thinking approach to technology. His career continued to flourish in the two thousands when he served as a visiting scholar at Silicon Graphics and various universities.
