Jasmine Camacho-Quinn

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, born on August 21, 1996, is a distinguished track and field athlete from Puerto Rico, specializing in the 100 meters hurdles. Her remarkable talent and dedication have made her a prominent figure in athletics, particularly after her historic achievements at the Olympic Games.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Camacho-Quinn made history by becoming the first Puerto Rican of Afro-Latino descent to win a gold medal, and only the second athlete representing Puerto Rico to achieve this honor. In the semi-finals, she set a personal best and an Olympic record of twelve point twenty-six seconds, a time that ranks among the fastest in history.

Her success continued beyond the Olympics, as she secured a bronze medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships and followed it up with a silver medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. In the 2024 Paris Olympics, she added another bronze medal to her collection, making her the only Puerto Rican athlete to have won two Olympic medals.
