Jasmine Crockett, born on March twenty-ninth, nineteen eighty-one, is a prominent American lawyer and politician. She currently serves as the U.S. representative for Texas's thirtieth congressional district, a position she has held since two thousand twenty-three. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, she previously represented the one hundredth district in the Texas House of Representatives from two thousand twenty-one to two thousand twenty-three.
Originally hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Crockett pursued her education at Rhodes College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She furthered her studies at the University of Houston Law Center, obtaining her Juris Doctor. Following her graduation, she began her career as a public defender in Bowie County, Texas, before establishing her own law firm.
In two thousand twenty, Crockett was elected to the Texas House of Representatives, succeeding former Mayor Eric Johnson. Her political journey continued as she became a candidate in the U.S. Senate election in Texas in two thousand twenty-six, where she competed in the Democratic primary against state representative James Talarico.
