Jason Richardson

Jason Anthoney Richardson Sr., born on January 20, 1981, is a distinguished American former professional basketball player who left an indelible mark on the NBA over his fourteen-season career. He was selected as the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors after showcasing his talents at Michigan State University, where he played college basketball for the Spartans.

Throughout his career, Richardson played for several teams, including the Charlotte Bobcats, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia 76ers. He is particularly celebrated for his exceptional dunking ability and shooting skills. His early career was highlighted by back-to-back victories in the NBA Dunk Contest in 2002 and 2003, making him only the second player in history to achieve this feat consecutively, following the legendary Michael Jordan.

As his career progressed, Richardson evolved into a prolific shooter, leading the league in three-pointers made from the 2007-08 season through the 2011-12 season, with a remarkable total of eight hundred twenty three-pointers. His contributions to the game have solidified his reputation as one of the greats in basketball.

Since 2021, Richardson has continued to showcase his skills as an active player for Tri-State in the BIG3 league, demonstrating his enduring passion for the sport and his commitment to the game.
