Jasper Cillessen

Jasper Cillessen, born on April 22, 1989, is a distinguished Dutch professional footballer renowned for his role as a goalkeeper. Currently, he plays for NEC in the Eredivisie, where he began his football journey in 2001 by joining the club's youth team.

Making his professional debut in 2010, Cillessen quickly made a name for himself and transferred to Ajax the following year for a fee of three million euros. Over six seasons with Ajax, he showcased his skills in 141 matches and contributed to the team's success, securing three Eredivisie titles.

In 2016, Cillessen took a significant step in his career by signing with Barcelona for an initial fee of thirteen million euros. After a successful stint, he moved to Valencia in 2019, where he played for three seasons before returning to NEC, marking a full-circle moment in his career.

On the international stage, Cillessen received his first call-up to the Netherlands national team in May 2011.
