Javaris Crittenton, born on December 31, 1987, is a former American professional basketball player known for his time in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Over the course of his four-year career, he showcased his skills with teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Washington Wizards. Additionally, he played internationally for the Zhejiang Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association and the Dakota Wizards in the NBA D-League.
Before entering the professional arena, Crittenton made a name for himself as the starting point guard for the Georgia Tech men's basketball team, where he demonstrated his talent and potential on a national stage. His journey in basketball, however, took a tragic turn.
On August 26, 2011, Crittenton was charged with the murder of Jullian Jones, a twenty-two-year-old mother of four. This incident marked a significant shift in his life and career. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was initially sentenced to twenty-three years in prison, a term that was later reduced to ten years.
