Javier Lozano Barragán, born on January twenty-sixth, nineteen thirty-three, is a distinguished Mexican prelate of the Catholic Church. His extensive career in the Church has seen him serve in various significant roles, most notably as the president of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers from nineteen ninety-seven to two thousand nine.
In recognition of his contributions to the Church, he was elevated to the rank of cardinal in two thousand three. His journey within the ecclesiastical hierarchy began as the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Mexico, a position he held from nineteen seventy-nine until nineteen eighty-four.
