Jean-François Pouliot

Jean-François Pouliot, a prominent Canadian film director, hails from the vibrant city of Montreal, Quebec. Born in nineteen fifty-seven, he embarked on his artistic journey at Concordia University, where he honed his skills in filmmaking.

Initially, Pouliot worked as an assistant cameraman, which laid the groundwork for his future endeavors. He also made a name for himself by writing and directing short animated films for the National Film Board, showcasing his creative talents early on.

In nineteen eighty-two, he transitioned to the advertising world by joining Cossette Communication Marketing. His innovative approach earned him the prestigious Grand prix du Mondial de publicité francophone on two occasions, highlighting his prowess in the realm of French-language advertising.

By nineteen eighty-eight, Pouliot had shifted his focus to directing television commercials, further expanding his repertoire. He directed several episodes of the beloved CBC Television series, Emily of New Moon, and his filmography includes notable works such as Seducing Doctor Lewis (La Grande séduction), The Little Book of Revenge (Guide de la petite vengeance), and Dr. Cabbie.

His animated feature, Snowtime! (La Guerre des tuques 3D), along with films like Votez Bougon and The 3 L'il Pigs 2 (Les 3 p'tits cochons 2), have solidified his status as a versatile and talented director in the Canadian film industry.
