Marcel's early career saw him take on various roles, including a tutor at St Paul's College in Ambatoharanana. He later served as the priest in charge of Marovoay and then Ankadinondry, showcasing his commitment to nurturing the spiritual needs of his community.

In nineteen fifty-two, he became the chaplain to the Bishop of Madagascar, a position that paved the way for his appointment as an assistant bishop in nineteen fifty-six. His leadership qualities were recognized when he succeeded Bishop Parfitt in nineteen sixty-one, becoming the seventh Anglican Bishop of Madagascar. During his tenure, which lasted until nineteen sixty-nine, the diocese underwent a significant transformation, splitting into three distinct entities.

Following this pivotal change, Marcel continued his service as the Bishop of Antananarivo until nineteen seventy-five, further solidifying his legacy within the Anglican community. He passed away in nineteen eighty, leaving behind a rich history of dedication and leadership.
