Jeff Fortenberry

Jeff Fortenberry, born on December twenty-seventh, nineteen sixty, is a notable American politician, economist, and executive. He represented Nebraska's 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from two thousand five until two thousand twenty-two, proudly serving as a member of the Republican Party.

In October two thousand twenty-one, Fortenberry faced serious legal challenges when a federal grand jury indicted him on three charges related to lying to investigators and concealing information about foreign campaign contributions. His conviction on all three felony counts in March two thousand twenty-two marked a significant turning point in his political career.

Following his convictions, prominent political figures, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, urged Fortenberry to resign. He officially stepped down from his position on March thirty-first, two thousand twenty-two. Subsequently, in June of the same year, he was sentenced to two years of probation, community service, and a financial penalty.
