Jeff Zients

Jeff Zients, born on November twelfth, nineteen sixty-six, is a prominent American business executive and civil servant. He has made significant contributions to the U.S. government, most notably serving as the thirty-first White House chief of staff from February twenty twenty-three to January twenty twenty-five under President Joe Biden. His tenure in the Biden administration also included roles as counselor to the president and White House coronavirus response coordinator from January twenty twenty-one to April twenty twenty-two.

During the Obama presidency, Zients held several key positions, including director of the National Economic Council from February twenty fourteen to January twenty seventeen. He also served as acting director of the Office of Management and Budget in two separate terms, first in twenty ten and again from twenty twelve to twenty thirteen. Notably, he led the critical effort to rectify the issues surrounding the launch of healthcare.gov, a vital component of the Affordable Care Act.

Before his foray into government service, Zients was an executive at various firms, including the Advisory Board Company and CEB. He returned to the Biden administration after stepping down from his role as chief executive officer of Cranemere, an investment firm.
