Jefferson Lerma

Jefferson Lerma, born on October 25, 1994, is a talented Colombian professional footballer known for his versatility as a defensive midfielder and centre-back. Currently, he plays for Premier League club Crystal Palace and represents the Colombia national team.

Lerma began his football journey as a youth player at Atlético Huila, where he honed his skills for three years before making a significant move to Spain. In 2016, he joined Levante UD on loan, and his impressive performances led to a permanent transfer later that year, securing a four-year contract with the club.

In 2018, Lerma made headlines when he signed with AFC Bournemouth for a club-record fee of thirty million euros. He spent five successful seasons with Bournemouth, showcasing his talent and determination on the pitch. In 2023, he transitioned to Crystal Palace F.C. on a free transfer, where he played a pivotal role in the team's triumphs, including winning the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield in 2025.

On the international stage, Lerma first represented Colombia at the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016.
