Jeffrey Katzenberg

Jeffrey Katzenberg, born on December 21, 1950, is a prominent American media proprietor and film producer whose influence has shaped the landscape of animated cinema. He held the esteemed position of chair at Walt Disney Studios from 1984 to 1994, where he was instrumental in overseeing the production and business operations of the company's feature films.

In 1994, Katzenberg co-founded DreamWorks SKG, stepping into the role of chief executive officer and executive producer. Under his leadership, the studio produced iconic animated franchises such as Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon. He remained at the helm until 2016, when he transitioned to focus on new ventures.

Following his departure from DreamWorks, Katzenberg established WndrCo, a venture capital firm dedicated to investing in digital media projects. In 2020, he launched Quibi, a short-form mobile video platform that ultimately faced challenges, resulting in a loss of one billion three hundred fifty million dollars within just seven months.

Beyond his contributions to film, Katzenberg has made a significant mark in the political arena as a notable election donor. His support for Democratic candidates, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, has earned him recognition as one of Hollywood's premier political kingmakers. He served as a campaign co-chair for Joe Biden's 2024 presidential re-election campaign and later for Kamala Harris's campaign.
