Jennifer Gillis

Jennifer Gillis, born on April twenty-six, nineteen ninety-six, is a talented Canadian singer, dancer, and actress renowned for her impressive contributions to musical theatre and television. With a diverse background that includes singing, radio, recording, and animated voice-over work, she has established herself as a versatile performer.

Gillis gained significant recognition as a contestant on Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's CBC TV reality show, Over the Rainbow. This competition sought to cast the leading role of Dorothy Gale in Lloyd Webber's anticipated production of The Wizard of Oz in Toronto, Ontario. As the youngest aspiring singer in the competition, she proudly represented her home province of British Columbia and achieved the remarkable distinction of being named the sixth-best musical theatre performer in all of Canada.

Following her success on Over the Rainbow, Gillis had the honor of performing the Canadian national anthem, 'O Canada,' for Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Canada Day in two thousand thirteen. Her professional journey in musical theatre has seen her take on a variety of iconic roles, including Maria in West Side Story, Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Beth in Little Women, Millie Dilmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical, and Ariel Moore in Footloose, among others.
