Jenny Simpson, born on August 23, 1986, is a distinguished retired American middle- and long-distance runner, celebrated for her remarkable achievements on the global stage. She made her mark by clinching the gold medal in the 1500 meters at the 2011 World Championships, followed by silver medals at the 2013 and 2017 World Championships, and a bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Throughout her illustrious career, Simpson held the American record for the 3000 meters steeplechase and proudly represented the United States at three Olympic Games: Beijing in 2008, London in 2012, and Rio in 2016. Her prowess on the track was further highlighted when she emerged as the 2014 Diamond League champion in the 1500 meters.
