Jeremy Hansen

Jeremy Hansen, born on January twenty-seventh, nineteen seventy-six, is a distinguished astronaut, fighter pilot, physicist, and air force officer. As a colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force, he has made significant contributions to both military aviation and space exploration. His journey into the cosmos reached a historic milestone when he became a crew member of the Artemis II mission in twenty twenty-six, marking him as the first non-American to venture beyond low Earth orbit and approach the Moon.

Hansen's selection by the Canadian Space Agency in two thousand nine, alongside fellow astronaut David Saint-Jacques, was a pivotal moment in his career. Prior to his astronaut training, he served as a captain in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he honed his skills piloting the CF-18 fighter jet at CFB Cold Lake in Alberta.
