Jeremy Swayman

Jeremy Rion Swayman, born on November 24, 1998, is an accomplished American ice hockey player who currently serves as a goaltender for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League (NHL). Selected by the Bruins in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Swayman has made a significant impact in the league since his debut.

Raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Swayman's passion for hockey ignited at a young age, attending Alaska Anchorage Seawolves games with his father. He began his journey as a goaltender at just five years old. After a challenging start with the Kenai River Brown Bears, he honed his skills playing junior hockey with the Pikes Peak Miners and later in the United States Hockey League with the Sioux Falls Stampede.

Before joining the Bruins, Swayman showcased his talent at the collegiate level with the Maine Black Bears, where he excelled during the 2019–20 season, achieving a remarkable .939 save percentage and a goals against average of 2.07. His outstanding performance earned him the prestigious Hockey East Player of the Year award and the Mike Richter Award, recognizing him as the top collegiate goaltender.

After three successful years at Maine, Swayman transitioned to the professional arena, although the COVID-19 pandemic delayed his NHL debut until the 2020–21 season. Initially playing with the Providence Bruins in the AHL, he was called up to the NHL in April due to injuries among the team's primary goaltenders. His impressive play led to his selection as Tuukka Rask's backup during the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs, where he made his postseason debut.

In the following seasons, Swayman solidified his role within the Bruins, forming a goaltending duo with veteran Linus Ullmark. Together, they achieved the William M. Jennings Trophy for allowing the fewest goals during the 2022–23 season, further establishing Swayman as a key player in the NHL.
