Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Jerry Korab

Jerry Korab, born on September fifteenth, nineteen forty-eight, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is a distinguished former professional ice hockey player known for his formidable presence on the ice. As a defenceman in the National Hockey League from nineteen seventy-one to nineteen eighty-five, Korab earned the nickname "King Kong" for his physical style of play, which was a hallmark of the NHL during the 1970s.

Korab made his NHL debut with the Chicago Black Hawks in the nineteen seventy-one season, where he quickly established himself as a reliable player tasked with protecting the net. Over the next two seasons, he scored twelve goals in the nineteen seventy-two to seventy-three season and played a crucial role in helping the Black Hawks reach the Stanley Cup Final in both nineteen seventy-one and nineteen seventy-three.

His most notable years were spent with the Buffalo Sabres from nineteen seventy-three to nineteen eighty, where he became an integral part of one of the league's most promising teams. Korab's physicality and scoring ability shone through as he hit double digits in goals four times and contributed to the Sabres' first Stanley Cup Final appearance in nineteen seventy-five. His talent was recognized with selections to the NHL All-Star Games in nineteen seventy-five and nineteen seventy-six, and he was also celebrated as the NHL's "best dressed player" for three consecutive years.

In March nineteen eighty, Korab was traded to the Los Angeles Kings, a move that allowed the Sabres to draft offensive defenceman Phil Housley. After a brief retirement in nineteen eighty-three, he made a comeback with the Sabres, ultimately retiring for good after playing twenty-five games in the nineteen eighty-four to eighty-five season. Today, Korab is the owner and operator of Korab Inc., a packaging service based in Bellwood, Illinois.
