Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Jerzy Popiełuszko

Jerzy Popiełuszko, born on September fourteenth, nineteen forty-seven, was a prominent Polish Roman Catholic priest and preacher. He became widely recognized for his association with the Solidarity trade union, a significant force in the opposition against the communist regime in Poland.

Tragically, Popiełuszko's life was cut short when he was murdered in nineteen eighty-four by three agents of the Security Service. This heinous act was a direct response to his vocal support for human rights and freedom, and the perpetrators were subsequently tried and convicted for their crime.

In recognition of his unwavering faith and commitment to justice, the Roman Catholic Church has honored Popiełuszko as a martyr. His beatification took place on June sixth, two thousand ten, officiated by Cardinal Angelo Amato on behalf of Pope Benedict the sixteenth. Currently, an alleged miracle attributed to his intercession is under investigation, which could pave the way for his canonization.
