Destin Choice Route, known professionally as JID, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter born on October 31, 1989, in Atlanta. He has made a significant impact on the music scene since signing with J. Cole's Dreamville Records in 2017. JID's journey in music began in 2010 when he co-founded the musical collective Spillage Village alongside EarthGang, showcasing his collaborative spirit and innovative artistry.

JID's early works, including the self-released projects Route of Evil in 2012, Para Tu in 2013, and DiCaprio in 2015, laid the groundwork for his distinctive style. His debut studio album, The Never Story, released in 2017, received widespread acclaim and featured the notable single 'Never.'
