Jim B. Tucker

Jim B. Tucker, born in 1960, is a distinguished retired child psychiatrist and former Bonner-Lowry Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. His career has been marked by a profound interest in the exploration of children's memories of previous lives, as well as natal and prenatal memories.

Over the course of his career, Tucker dedicated himself to documenting the remarkable stories of children who claim to remember past lives. His extensive research culminated in the publication of his book, Life Before Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children’s Memories of Previous Lives, which encapsulates over four decades of reincarnation research conducted at the Division of Perceptual Studies.

Following the retirement of his mentor, Ian Stevenson, in two thousand and two, Tucker took the helm of this groundbreaking research. His work has not only contributed to academic literature but has also reached a wider audience through various media appearances.
