Jim Carr

Jim Carr, born on October eleventh, nineteen fifty-one, was a multifaceted Canadian politician, journalist, and musician. He was a dedicated member of the Liberal Party, representing Winnipeg South Centre in Parliament from two thousand fifteen until his untimely passing on December twelfth, two thousand twenty-two. Carr's commitment to public service was evident in his various roles, including his tenure as the Minister of Natural Resources and Minister of International Trade Diversification.

Throughout his career, Carr was not only a politician but also a skilled oboist, showcasing his diverse talents. His last significant legislative achievement was the passage of his Private Members Bill, Bill C-235, aimed at fostering a green economy in the Prairies, which occurred just days before his death. He served as the Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security until his resignation in September two thousand twenty-two.
