Jim Garrison

Jim Garrison, born on November twentieth, nineteen twenty-one, was a prominent figure in the legal landscape of Louisiana. He served as the District Attorney of Orleans Parish from nineteen sixty-two to nineteen seventy-three, and later ascended to the role of a state appellate court judge. His career was marked by a steadfast commitment to justice and a deep engagement with the political currents of his time.

Garrison is perhaps best remembered for his controversial investigations into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In nineteen sixty-nine, he prosecuted New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw, believing that the assassination was the result of a conspiracy involving various powerful entities, including the CIA, FBI, The Pentagon, and organized crime. Despite his efforts, Shaw was acquitted, a verdict that sparked considerable debate and discussion.

In addition to his legal work, Garrison was also an accomplished writer and film actor. He authored three published books, one of which served as a significant source for Oliver Stone's acclaimed film 'JFK' in nineteen ninety-one. In this film, Garrison was portrayed by actor Kevin Costner, and he even made a cameo appearance as Earl Warren, adding a personal touch to the cinematic portrayal of his life’s work.
