Jim Vallance

Jim Vallance, born on May thirty-first, nineteen fifty-two, is a distinguished Canadian composer, songwriter, record producer, instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter. He is widely recognized for his prolific partnership with Canadian rock icon Bryan Adams, crafting some of the most memorable hits in contemporary music.

Vallance's musical journey began as the original drummer and primary songwriter for the Canadian rock band Prism, where he performed under the pseudonym Rodney Higgs. His talent quickly propelled him into the spotlight, leading to collaborations with a plethora of renowned international artists, including Bonnie Raitt, Aerosmith, Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, and Tina Turner, among others.

Among his most celebrated works are iconic songs such as "What About Love" performed by Heart, "Spaceship Superstar" by Prism, and several chart-toppers for Bryan Adams, including "Run to You," "Cuts Like a Knife," "Heaven," and the timeless classic "Summer of '69." Vallance also co-wrote the poignant "Tears Are Not Enough" for Northern Lights for Africa, showcasing his commitment to humanitarian efforts.
