Jimmy Gomez, born on November twenty-fifth, nineteen seventy-four, is a prominent American politician who has been serving as the U.S. representative for California's thirty-fourth congressional district since two thousand seventeen. His district encompasses vibrant neighborhoods in Los Angeles, including Eagle Rock, Boyle Heights, Downtown Los Angeles, and Koreatown, among others.

A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Gomez's political journey began in the California State Assembly, where he served from two thousand twelve until two thousand seventeen. His commitment to public service is rooted in his earlier career as a labor organizer, where he held significant roles such as the legislative and political director for the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health-Care Professionals and the political representative for the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.
