Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Jo Swinson

Jo Swinson, born on February fifth, nineteen eighty, is a notable Scottish former politician who made her mark as the Leader of the Liberal Democrats from July to December two thousand nineteen. Her political journey began when she was elected as the Member of Parliament for East Dunbartonshire at the young age of twenty-five, making her the youngest MP at that time.

Throughout her career, Swinson held various significant roles within the Liberal Democrats, including serving as a spokesperson for Scotland, Women and Equalities, Communities and Local Government, and Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs. In two thousand ten, she became a Parliamentary Private Secretary to Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, later advancing to the position of Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Employment Relations and Postal Affairs.

After losing her seat in the two thousand fifteen election, Swinson made a comeback in the snap election of two thousand seventeen. Shortly after her return, she was elected unopposed as the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats. In July two thousand nineteen, she succeeded Vince Cable as the party leader, defeating Ed Davey in the leadership election.

During her brief tenure, Swinson led the party through the two thousand nineteen general election, advocating for a Liberal Democrat majority government that would revoke Article fifty and cancel Brexit. However, the party faced a net loss in seats, including her own, leading to her disqualification as party leader. Her leadership was notably the shortest in the history of the Liberal Democrats, lasting less than five months.

In September two thousand twenty, Swinson transitioned to a new role as the Director of Partners for a New Economy (P4NE), continuing her commitment to public service and economic reform.
