Joe DioGuardi, born on September twentieth, nineteen forty, is a notable American accountant and politician. He made history as the first Albanian American voting member of Congress, serving as a Republican U.S. Representative for New York's twentieth congressional district from nineteen eighty-five to nineteen eighty-nine.
In addition to his congressional service, DioGuardi was the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in New York during the two thousand ten special election, where he faced off against incumbent senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
