Joe DioGuardi

Joe DioGuardi, born on September twentieth, nineteen forty, is a notable American accountant and politician. He made history as the first Albanian American voting member of Congress, serving as a Republican U.S. Representative for New York's twentieth congressional district from nineteen eighty-five to nineteen eighty-nine.

In addition to his congressional service, DioGuardi was the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in New York during the two thousand ten special election, where he faced off against incumbent senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

Before his political career, DioGuardi was a partner at Arthur Andersen & Co., showcasing his expertise in accounting. He is also the president of the Albanian American Civic League, an organization he leads alongside his wife, Shirley Cloyes DioGuardi.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Joe DioGuardi is the proud father of Kara DioGuardi, a talented songwriter and record producer, further highlighting the family's contributions to American culture.
