Joe Lombardo

Joe Lombardo, born on November eighth, nineteen sixty-two, is an accomplished American politician and former law enforcement officer. He currently serves as the thirty-first governor of Nevada, a position he has held since January second, twenty twenty-three. A member of the Republican Party, Lombardo previously served as the seventeenth sheriff of Clark County from two thousand fifteen to twenty twenty-three, culminating a distinguished thirty-four-year career in law enforcement.

Originally born in Japan, Lombardo relocated to Las Vegas in nineteen seventy-six. He pursued his education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and later served in the United States Army. In nineteen eighty-eight, he began his career as an officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where he dedicated himself to public safety and community service.

In two thousand fourteen, Lombardo was elected sheriff and successfully secured reelection in two thousand eighteen. His leadership and commitment to the community paved the way for his candidacy for governor. In twenty twenty-two, he won the Republican nomination and went on to defeat the incumbent Democratic governor, Steve Sisolak, in the general election.
