Joe Neguse

Joseph D. Neguse, born on May 13, 1984, is a prominent American lawyer and politician who has made significant strides in the political landscape of Colorado. Since 2019, he has proudly served as the U.S. representative for Colorado's 2nd congressional district, which encompasses the vibrant communities of Fort Collins, Longmont, and Boulder, along with numerous rural areas and picturesque mountain towns such as Walden, Granby, Steamboat Springs, and Gypsum.

A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Neguse's political journey began with his tenure as a regent of the University of Colorado from 2008 to 2015. His commitment to education and public service has been a hallmark of his career, reflecting his deep-rooted belief in the power of community and civic engagement.

Notably, Neguse holds the distinction of being the first Eritrean-American elected to the United States Congress, as well as Colorado's first black member of Congress. His election is a testament to the changing face of American politics and the increasing diversity within its leadership.
