Joe Rogan

Joseph James Rogan Jr., born on August 11, 1967, in Newark, New Jersey, is a multifaceted American entertainer known for his work as a podcaster, comedian, actor, and UFC color commentator. He began his journey in comedy in 1988 in the Boston area, eventually relocating to Los Angeles in 1994, where he signed a developmental deal with Disney. His acting career includes notable appearances in television shows such as Hardball and NewsRadio.

In 1997, Rogan made his mark in the world of mixed martial arts by joining the UFC as an interviewer and color commentator. His comedy career took off with the release of his first special, I'm Gonna Be Dead Someday..., in 2000, and he gained further fame as the host of the game show Fear Factor from 2001 to 2006. After leaving the show, he dedicated himself to stand-up comedy and produced several specials.

Rogan launched The Joe Rogan Experience in 2009, which quickly became one of the most popular podcasts globally, amassing millions of plays per episode by 2015. In 2020, Spotify acquired exclusive distribution rights for the podcast for two hundred million dollars, significantly expanding his audience. By 2024, he renewed his deal with Spotify for an estimated two hundred fifty million dollars, although he would no longer be exclusive to the platform.

Throughout his career, Rogan has been an outspoken advocate for various social issues, including same-sex marriage, drug legalization, and universal health care. He has faced criticism for promoting conspiracy theories and misinformation, particularly regarding COVID-19. Politically, he has shifted his support over the years, endorsing Ron Paul in 2012, Bernie Sanders in 2020, and Donald Trump in 2024, while also voicing criticism of some of Trump's policies.
