His career in the sport began with a notable selection by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round of the nineteen ninety-eight NHL Entry Draft, where he was picked one hundred thirty-third overall.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Rullier showcased his talent over four seasons with the Rimouski Océanic, competing from the nineteen ninety-six to nineteen ninety-seven season until the conclusion of the nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand season. This foundational experience laid the groundwork for his future in professional hockey.

Throughout his career, Rullier played a total of four hundred sixty-one regular-season games in the American Hockey League.
