Joe Sample

Joe Sample, born on February first, nineteen thirty-nine, was a distinguished American jazz pianist, composer, and recording artist. He was a pivotal figure in the jazz scene, known for his innovative approach to music that blended gospel, blues, jazz, Latin, and classical influences.

In 1960, Sample became one of the founding members of The Jazz Crusaders, a group that would later be known simply as The Crusaders in nineteen seventy-one. His tenure with the band lasted until their final album in nineteen ninety-one, and he also contributed to their reunion album, Rural Renewal, released in two thousand three.

Throughout his career, which began to flourish in the late nineteen sixties, Sample not only established a successful solo career but also collaborated with a myriad of renowned artists.
