Joe Weider

Joe Weider, born on November twenty-ninth, nineteen nineteen, was a pioneering Canadian publisher and entrepreneur who significantly shaped the world of bodybuilding and fitness. Alongside his brother Ben Weider, he co-founded the International Federation of BodyBuilders (IFBB), establishing a foundation for competitive bodybuilding that continues to thrive today.

Weider was not only instrumental in the creation of the IFBB but also the visionary behind iconic bodybuilding contests such as Mr. Olympia, Ms. Olympia, and the Masters Olympia. These competitions have become synonymous with excellence in the sport, attracting athletes from around the globe and elevating bodybuilding to new heights.

In addition to his contributions to competitive bodybuilding, Weider was a prolific publisher, known for his work on various fitness and bodybuilding magazines, including Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Men's Fitness, and Shape.
