Joël Lautier

Joël Lautier, born on April twelfth, nineteen seventy-three, is a distinguished French chess grandmaster who emerged as one of the leading chess players during the 1990s and early 2000s. His remarkable journey in chess began at a young age, as he clinched the U-14 World Youth Chess Championship in Puerto Rico, Argentina, in nineteen eighty-six. Two years later, he made history by winning the World Junior Chess Championship at the age of fifteen, becoming the youngest player ever to achieve this feat, outpacing renowned players such as Vasily Ivanchuk, Boris Gelfand, and Gregory Serper.

Throughout his illustrious career, Lautier has established himself as a formidable opponent, notably holding a lifetime positive score against the legendary Garry Kasparov. His strategic prowess was instrumental in Vladimir Kramnik's victory over Kasparov in the two thousand World Championship, where he played a key role in preparing the infamous 'Berlin Wall' opening.
