Joëlle Pineau

Joëlle Pineau, born in 1974, is a distinguished Canadian computer scientist and a prominent figure in the field of artificial intelligence. Currently, she serves as a Professor at McGill University, where she imparts her extensive knowledge and expertise to the next generation of innovators.

In addition to her academic role, Pineau holds the position of Chief A.I. Officer at Cohere, a company at the forefront of AI technology. Her leadership and vision in the field have been recognized globally, particularly during her tenure as the global vice president of Facebook Artificial Intelligence Research, now known as AI at Meta, a role she held until May two thousand twenty-five.
