Joep Lange

Joep Lange, born on September twenty-fifth, nineteen fifty-four, was a distinguished Dutch physician and virologist renowned for his groundbreaking work in HIV therapy. His dedication to clinical research significantly advanced the understanding and treatment of HIV, making him a pivotal figure in the field.

Throughout his career, Lange held the esteemed position of president of the International AIDS Society from two thousand two to two thousand four. Tragically, Lange's life was cut short when he was a passenger on Malaysia Airlines Flight seventeen, which was shot down over Ukraine on July seventeenth, two thousand fourteen.
