He first picked up a drum kit at the tender age of eight, which set the stage for a prolific career in music. Jordison's journey began with various bands, but in 1995, he joined a group called the Pale Ones, which would later evolve into the iconic nu metal band Slipknot.

As the original drummer of Slipknot, designated as #1, Jordison played a pivotal role in shaping the band's sound and image from its inception. He was the third member to join the nine-member lineup that thrived from 1999 to 2010. His contributions were instrumental in the production of the band's first four studio albums and the live album 9.0: Live, solidifying his status as a key figure in the heavy metal scene.

In addition to his work with Slipknot, Jordison was the guitarist for the horror punk supergroup Murderdolls and founded the band Scar the Martyr in 2013, which lasted until 2016. His versatility allowed him to collaborate with a variety of artists, including Rob Zombie, Metallica, Korn, Ministry, Otep, and Satyricon, showcasing his talent across different genres.

Jordison was also known for his session work, contributing to numerous recordings for various artists. He utilized several drum brands, including Pearl and ddrum, throughout his career.
