Johan Fabricius

Johan Johannes Fabricius, born on 24 August 1899 in Bandung, Java, was a multifaceted Dutch writer and journalist whose adventurous spirit led him to explore various creative avenues. Known for his engaging storytelling, he published under the name Johan Wigmore Fabricius and became a prominent figure in literature, particularly in children's books.

Throughout his prolific career, Fabricius authored approximately sixty books, captivating young readers with tales that sparked their imagination. One of his most notable works, 'De Scheepsjongens van Bontekoe,' published in nineteen twenty-four, achieved remarkable success, being reprinted twenty-eight times by two thousand and three.

In addition to his literary contributions, Fabricius was a dedicated resistance fighter during tumultuous times, showcasing his commitment to his beliefs. His diverse talents extended to textile design, illustration, and painting, reflecting his artistic versatility.
