John B. Gordon

John B. Gordon, born on February sixth, eighteen thirty-two, was a prominent American politician and a general in the Confederate States Army. Renowned as one of Robert E. Lee's most trusted generals by the conclusion of the Civil War, Gordon's military prowess was matched by his political ambitions.

After the war, he became a significant figure in Georgia politics, staunchly opposing Reconstruction.
