John Breaux

John Breaux, born on March first, nineteen forty-four, is a distinguished American lobbyist, attorney, and retired politician hailing from Louisiana. His political career began in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served from nineteen seventy-two to nineteen eighty-seven. Breaux's tenure in Congress was marked by his affiliation with the Southern Democrats, and he was recognized as one of the more conservative members of the Democratic Party.

In nineteen eighty-seven, Breaux transitioned to the United States Senate, where he continued to represent Louisiana until his retirement in two thousand five. During his time in the Senate, he was a prominent member of the New Democrat Coalition, advocating for policies that aligned with his centrist and pragmatic approach to governance.

After concluding his congressional career, Breaux shifted his focus to lobbying, co-founding the Breaux-Lott Leadership Group.
