John David Washington, born on July 28, 1984, is an accomplished American actor and former professional football player. He is the son of renowned actor Denzel Washington, which undoubtedly influenced his transition into the entertainment industry. Washington began his athletic career at Morehouse College, where he played college football before signing with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2006.
After a brief stint in the NFL, Washington spent four years as a running back for the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the United Football League. However, his passion for acting led him to shift his focus from sports to the performing arts, following in the footsteps of his parents.
Washington gained significant recognition for his role as Ron Stallworth in Spike Lee's critically acclaimed film BlacKkKlansman (2018), earning nominations for both a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
