Ask the Dust is part of a series known as 'The Bandini Quartet,' which includes four novels published between nineteen thirty-eight and nineteen eighty-five. The novel's impact was significant enough to inspire a film adaptation in two thousand six, featuring actors Colin Farrell and Salma Hayek.
