John Kander

John Kander, born on March eighteenth, nineteen twenty-seven, is a celebrated American composer renowned for his significant contributions to musical theater. His collaboration with lyricist Fred Ebb formed the iconic songwriting duo Kander and Ebb, which produced a remarkable body of work that includes fifteen musicals.

Among their most notable creations are the groundbreaking productions of 'Cabaret' in nineteen sixty-six and 'Chicago' in nineteen seventy-five, both of which garnered critical acclaim and were later adapted into successful films. Their partnership also gave rise to the timeless standard 'New York, New York,' officially known as 'Theme from New York, New York.'
