John Neumeier

John Neumeier, born on February twenty-fourth, nineteen thirty-nine, is a distinguished American ballet dancer, choreographer, and director. His illustrious career has been marked by his role as the director and principal choreographer of the Hamburg Ballet from nineteen seventy-three until twenty twenty-four, as well as serving as the artistic director of the ballet at the Hamburg State Opera from nineteen ninety-six to twenty twenty-four.

In nineteen seventy-eight, Neumeier took a significant step in nurturing future talent by founding The School of the Hamburg Ballet. This institution not only provides a comprehensive ballet education but also includes a boarding school that accommodates thirty-four students, fostering a new generation of dancers.

Since its inception in two thousand eleven, he has been the general director and artistic supervisor of the German National Youth Ballet, further demonstrating his commitment to the development of young artists in the ballet community.
