John T. Dunlap

John T. Dunlap, born on April 16, 1957, is a distinguished Canadian attorney who has made significant strides in the legal field and beyond. His career took a remarkable turn when he was elected as the reigning Prince and 81st Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in 2023, marking a historic moment in the Order's long-standing tradition.

Before ascending to this prestigious role, Dunlap served as the Lieutenant of the Order of Malta starting June 13, 2022. His election as Grand Master is particularly noteworthy as he became the first individual to hold this title without noble or aristocratic lineage, a change made possible by Pope Francis' revision of the Order's constitution in 2022.
