John Tong Hon

John Tong Hon, born on July thirty-first, nineteen thirty-nine, is a distinguished prelate of the Catholic Church hailing from Hong Kong. His journey within the Church has been marked by significant roles, including his appointment as a cardinal in two thousand twelve, a position that underscores his influence and dedication to the faith.

From nineteen ninety-six to two thousand eight, he served as the auxiliary bishop of Hong Kong, where he played a vital role in supporting the local church community. Following this, he became the coadjutor bishop for a year before taking on the esteemed position of Bishop of Hong Kong from two thousand nine until two thousand seventeen.

In January two thousand nineteen, following the passing of his successor, Michael Yeung, Tong Hon stepped into the role of apostolic administrator of the diocese. This caretaker position allowed him to guide the diocese during a transitional period, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the Church and its followers.
